Manufacture

"Fomos Materials" has a complete technological cycle of growing crystals using the Czochralski method and manufacturing elements from them, including synthesis of the initial charge, growing crystals and machining (cutting, grinding, chemical processing), technical control.

The Czochralski method is a method of growing single crystals by drawing them upwards from the free surface of a large volume of melt with initiating the onset of crystallization by bringing a seed crystal (or several crystals) of a given structure and crystallographic orientation into contact with the free surface of the melt.

It can be used for growing crystals of chemical elements and chemical compounds that are stable at melting-crystallization temperatures.

The method is best known for the growth of single-crystal silicon and single-crystal germanium.
