Lithium niobate

Lithium niobate crystal (LN)

Lithium Niobate - colorless piezoelectric crystal that belongs to 3M symmetry class. Chemical formula: - LiNbO3. It is ferroelectric. Method for the production - the Czochralski method. Due to the high value of propagation velocity of the wafer surface wave, elements made of LN are used for surface acoustic waves (SAW) devices. LN crystals are also used in bulk acoustic waves (BAW) devices and as acoustooptical Q-switches. Lithium Niobate crystal industrial growth technology was restored by Fomos-Materials specialists.
